Was Japanese Former PM Shinzo Abe Religious? Gender Discussion As The Politician Has No Children

Japanese ex-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died after being assassinated at a campaign event.  He was shot on the morning of Friday, July 8, 2022, in the city of Nara. He was barbarically shot twice and was rushed to the nearest hospital. 

A photo of him bleeding at the scene had gone viral on media. After the shooting, the former prime minister apparently went into cardiac arrest and displayed no vital signs.

Meanwhile, the gunman was tackled by the security officials when he opened fire on Abe. The 41-year-old suspect, Yamagami Tetsuya, has been taken into custody. 

Who Is Shinzo Abe?

Shinzo Abe served as the Prime Minister of Japan from 2006 to 2007 and once again from 2012 to 2020. He stepped down due to health reasons. 

His regime as a Prime Minister was very a important time for Japan. He helped the nation grow even more strong in its economy. His economic policies, dubbed “Abenomics,” which sought monetary easing, fiscal stimulus, and structural changes, made his premiership well-known on a global scale.

The es-PM was a well-educated individual. He attended the Seikei Elementary School and Seikei Junior and Senior High School. He studied public administration at Seikei University. Likewise, in 1977, he received a bachelor’s degree in political science. Abe afterward moved to the US and studied public policy at the University of Southern California for three semesters.

Due to health reasons, he had to temporarily step down from politics. He had suffered a relapse of ulcerative colitis, an intestinal disease.

Does Shinzo Abe Follow The Buddhist Religion?

Shinzo Abe follows both the Buddhism and Shinto religion.  Nevertheless, he was a leader who supported all kinds of religions in his country.

As per Google, more than 84 million, or about 67 percent of people in Japan are Buddhist. Similarly, there is more than 69 percent follow the Shinto religion. Thus, he practiced and supported the teachings of both religions during his regime. 

For those who do not know about the Shinto religion, it is a Japanese belief system. Its teachings center on the kami, divine beings thought to reside in everything.

Sharing his thoughts while traveling to India, the ex-PM has often said: ‘The Teachings of Buddha exist between India and Japan as a sutra’. At the same time, the ex-PM had always worked for the bright future of Japan’s Shinto myth.

Abe was born in Tokyo, Japan, on September 21, 1954. He has Virgo as his birth sign.

Shinzo Abe Gender: He Supported Gay Marriages

Shinzo Abe was straight, he was married to his dear wife Akie Abe, a Japanese radio DJ and a socialite. 

Abe was not gay, as evidently showed by his marriage. He, however, supported same-sex marriage. In 2019, he called for discussion on revising Japan’s constitution to allow same-sex marriage. This had annoyed his colleagues in the ruling party.

There are no anti-LGBT laws in Japan, yet many LGBT persons still keep their sexuality a secret.

The ex-PM had tied the knot with Akie in the year 1987. The couple has no children. 

Akie was the first wife of any Prime Minister in Japan to use Facebook and Instagram. However, she had reduced her use of the media following the rise of the Moritomo Gakuen scandal.
