Euphoria is now providing flashbacks of Cal as a child, focusing on his bond with a youngster called Derek. In the most recent episode, the couple visits a homosexual bar and has a kiss.
Cal’s hopes for a future connection with Derek are dashed the next day when his girlfriend phones to tell him she is pregnant.

Galen, Patrick Dempsey is an American actor and racing car driver best known for his portrayal as Grey’s Anatomy doctor Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd.
He enjoyed early success as an actor, playing in many films in the 1980s. Dempsey has earned prominent public notice for his portrayal as Dr. Derek Christopher Shepherd in the drama Grey’s Anatomy alongside Ellen Pompeo.
Dempsey auditioned for the part of Dr. Chase on another medical drama, House, before earning the job. He also played the identical character of Dr. Shepherd in two episodes of Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice.
In January 2014, he secured a two-year contract extension to stay on Grey’s Anatomy, which was then in its tenth season, ensuring his involvement for probable 11th and 12th seasons.
At the 2006 Golden Globes, Dempsey was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series–Drama for the role.
