He is not gravely unwell. He generated weather reports as a forecaster for aviation and industries at Universal Weather Inc.
Leonard made his television debut on WNAC-TV in May 1977. For the first several years of his employment, he worked as a weather forecaster.

Leonard spent 25 years as a meteorologist for WHDH-TV in Boston. He started his career as a meteorologist with Universal Weather, Inc., forecasting aviation and industries.
He was a professor and a reporter for New York and Connecticut radio stations. For three years, he was the lead meteorologist for WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island.

Harvey Leonard is married, but the name and identity of his wife are kept hidden. He and his family enjoy an excellent relationship. His family now calls Natick, Massachusetts home.
He also has two daughters and five grandkids to be proud of. He has had such a good life that he is now the grandpa of five grandkids.
