Nearly four years have passed since Ted Robbins performed in a theatrical version of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights in front of a crowded Manchester Arena before collapsing to the ground from a heart attack.

Robbins is most recognized for his performance as the wicked Den Perry in Phoenix Nights. Besides, the comic actor has made guest appearances on sitcoms including Dalziel and Pascoe, Holby City, and The League of Gentlemen.

The 60-year-old Ted Robbins became unconscious and went numb in front of an audience on January 31, 2015, while performing as part of Phoenix Nights Live. 

Nobody would have the worst experience of witnessing a near-death experience than the 66-year-old English comedian. He immediately collapsed on stage and lay flat without making any motions, leading many viewers at the concert to believe that he had passed away.

But because of a medical marvel, they could preserve his life. Kudos to all the nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals who assisted Robbin that night so he could start a new life. “What a team. Not only did they put my body back together, but they also looked after my shattered emotions.” He expressed his thanks to all the staff.

Unsurprisingly, the event changed his life and made the Coronation Street actor more receptive to leading a healthy lifestyle. He now regularly goes for a walk, does work out every day and maintains a healthy diet.

But speaking to the Express, Robbins scorched one negative aspect of post-cardiac arrest life is that he has to take a “load of tablets” in order to maintain his normal body condition.

Yes! Ted Robbins is Alive and Improving

Ted Robbins was born on August 11, 1965, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. He is 66 years old now and is well alive and better.

Robbins suffered a heart attack on January 31, 2015, while doing a solo skit at the Manchester Arena for Phoenix Nights Live. He passed out on stage while grabbing his chest. Since then, he has shed two stones, and his health has improved drastically.

His sister revealed that Robbins had heart surgery back in 2015, a few weeks after the arrest. “Ted has rheumatic fever as a child, which affected a heart valve – so we knew there was a problem.” she added.

A year later, in January 2016, Robbins went back to the Manchester Arena to participate in a story for Inside Out North West, which aired on BBC One. Moreover, he paid tribute to all medical personnel who were there for him during his battle with the dead.

The Mount Pleasant star appeared on Crackerjack! in 2020 as one of the “Crackerjack Players.”

Victoria Wood Hid Her Cancer Diagnosis For Years

The comedic actress and a dear friend of Ted Robbins, Victoria Wood who won six British Comedy Awards, passed away in April 2016 after suffering a fatal cancer diagnosis.

However, only a small number of her friends and family were aware of her condition. She reportedly made a point of keeping her cancer fight a secret. Even though she was quietly battling the illness, the adored celebrity managed to stay active at work and even put off an operation so she could attend the London Jazz Festival.

Wood last made an appearance in public in June 2015, and in November of that same year, she was conspicuously absent from a showing of her film Fungus the Bogeyman.
