The Singapore-born Malaysian female badminton player and former world number 1, Yeo Jia Min, exits the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
In a fiercely contested match on August 7, veteran Indian shuttler PV Sindhu narrowly defeated Yeo by 21-19 in the first game, followed by a 21-17 victory in favor of Sindhu.
Yeo Jia Min played badminton for Singapore and was previously ranked No. 1 in the world for juniors. In addition, she is the first Singaporean to do so in either the junior or senior divisions of the BWF rankings.

The 23-year-old young and elevating Singaporean badminton player Yeo Jia Min is reportedly dating Pang Sheng Jun. Her boyfriend, Pang, is a former Singaporean national swimmer.
Even though none of them has publicly acknowledged their relationship, they routinely share images of one another on Instagram.
On this year’s Valentine’s Day, Yeo uploaded a picture of them where he is holding a gift from Pang and hugging her from behind. “Happy Valentine’s b; thank you for making time and doing these things when you really don’t have to.” she wrote a caption.
Similarly, on February 1, on Jia’s birthday, Pang wrote a long caption with a picture of them hugging and kissing while they were spending their holidays in Singapore.
Pang Sheng Jun is an ex-national swimmer for Singapore and a Self-Proclaimed Badminton Analyst. Pang began swimming when he was four on his doctor’s advice since he had asthma. At age six, he started swimming for a living.

The 29-year-old athlete won the men’s 4 x 200 m freestyle gold medal at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games and set a new record in the process. In addition, he took home his first individual medals from the SEA Games, the silver in the 400m individual medley and the bronze in the 400m freestyle.
What Is Yeo Jia Min’s Origin? Her Parents and Ethnicity
Yeo Jia Mi, age 23, was born in Singapore to Malaysian Chinese parents who had immigrated to the city-state and now became citizens. She and her father both acquired Singaporean citizenship sometime during her childhood.
When Yeo was seven years old, she began playing badminton after playing it casually with her parents. In the 2008 Cheers Age Group Badminton Championships, the nine-year-old Yeo took first place in the Under-11 division. Then, she represented Singapore at the 2009 Li-Ning Youth International and, at the age of 10, won the Under-11 singles title on an international stage.
However, she has not disclosed her parents’ identity. Also, unlike her boyfriend Pangs’, she has not uploaded pictures of her parents on Instagram. Besides, Yeo uploaded a photo in August 2020 with her parents.
Meanwhile, Pang is the eldest child of Agnes Ng and Pang Boon Teng. His two sisters competed in swimming until they were 16 years old, at which point they chose to concentrate on their academics.
