Alex Carey Family Life With Parents Gordon Carey And Andrea Carey

Alex Carey family had no sporting background before he made his debut for Australia. Alex was raised alongside two siblings.

Carey, 31, made his professional debut for team Australia in 2018 after impressing the selectors with his form in Big Bash League in 2017. Since then the Loxton native has been on the grind.

A father of two and a doting husband to his wife Eloise, the wicketkeeper has turned into an important squad member for the Aussies. After being handed over his test debut cap by former Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist in 2021, Alex has gone on to play 14 matches.

In an ongoing South Africa tour of Australia, Carey scored his first test century at the historical MCG stadium and became the first Australian wicketkeeper to score a century on Boxing Day.

Alex Carey parents Gordon Carey and Andrea Carey supported him throughout his athletic career.

Gordon and Andrea are parents to three kids, which include Alex’s older brother Adam and his older sister Ashleigh Carey. In an interview with Cricket Australia, Alex described himself as a good kid who didn’t give much trouble at home. So it must have been easy for Gordon and Andrea to raise Alex.

Gordon Carey, the father of Alex Carey, had his chemotherapy sessions going on when his son was called up for his debut against England in 2021. In an interview with 7News, Gordon said he wished he could have been there to watch his son’s big moment live.

But with his ongoing battle with leukemia, Gordon hoped he could at least be there for the second test match at Adelaide. A multi-sport athlete, Alex played Australian rules football before switching to cricket.

Alex has always been a momma’s boy. When he and Adam would play cricket in the backyard and Alex would be dismissed, he would run inside their house to ask his mother if he could go again. Andrea would step in and tell Adam to give his younger brother two more chances and help Alex continue playing the game.

Alex Carey Wife Eloise Carey

Alex Carey wife Eloise Carey believed that cricket was much safer than football.

Alex and Eloise had been dating since 2013 before they tied the knot three years later in 2016. Eloise wasn’t much supportive of Alex’s footballing career and thought he would be better off playing cricket.

The better half of Alex received tons of attention after his stunning century. While being interviewed by Triple M radio, Eloise talked about Alex’s preparation before he hit his century on Boxing Day.
