Meggi Matthews, Jake Matthews Wife Delivers Baby Son Beckett Thomas Matthews

Meggi Matthews is a sports journalist and the wife of offensive tackle Jake Matthews.

She's originally from Tampa, Florida, but currently, she resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia, to accompany her husband. She attended Kennesaw State University to study Sports Broadcasting after completing her education.

Many media outlets have reported her as a former sports broadcaster, but she has mentioned herself as an active journalist on her Instagram bio. Meggi started her professional career as an on-air personality for the SEC Network and the University of Alabama Athletics. She has also reported on Alabama's Crimson Tide after her successful stint at the SEC network.

However, after being married, she started to take her work less seriously, and lately, she hasn't been active as an on-field reporter. She recently delivered a boy, which might be why she was absent from the screen. Her last activity as a journalist came in December 2019 when she was present on the field reporting an NFL game.

The couple crossed paths around 2020 and dated for quite a while before being husband and wife. Their earliest online photographs date back to July 1, 2020; therefore, we can safely infer that they have been dating for longer than two years.

The charming pair got engaged on October 13, 2020, which they publicized to their fans via Instagram. They tied the knot in front of family and friends on March 12, 2021, and nearly after one and a half years of their union, they welcomed a son named Beckett.

Beckett Thomas Matthews, the baby son of Jake Matthews and Meggie Matthews, was born on November 10, 2022.

After his wife went into labor on Thursday morning, Matthews flew from Charlotte, North Carolina, to the Atlanta region. He had to maintain two different responsibilities at the same time.

He was there to witness the birth of his first child, and he also had to be present in Carolina to help his team win the NFL game. Meggi gave birth to a healthy baby boy at midday, one of Jake's most precious experiences.

The pair is delighted to have their first child together but couldn't share this moment for a long time as the NFL star had to rush back to the airport to help his team on an important league game.

After making sure his wife and infant kid were safe, the offensive tackle took a flight back to North Carolina and made it in time to participate in a crucial game for Atlanta as they tried to maintain their lead in the NFC South. While he was rushing against time to be present at two different events, he had a unique tale to tell his firstborn baby.

The game didn't go as planned because the Falcons lost, but Matthews still has fond memories of the day because he managed to help his teammates and his family.

The Panthers prevailed with a score of 25-15 despite playing in muddy circumstances on Thursday night due to Tropical Storm Nicole's downpour. It happened 11 days after the Falcons' overtime victory over the Panthers in Atlanta.
