In a shooting at Bjcc Birmington, a youngster and another person were hurt in a gunshot in East Birmingham on Saturday afternoon, according to Birmingham Police.

Recently, there has been a shooting in Bjcc, and according to multiple reports, there was chaos and panic inside among the people. Bjcc is not new to shootings and violence. 

Some weeks ago, there was also a shooting. A teenager from Center Point was shot and killed by a parking lot employee on Saturday following an alleged robbery attempt near the BJCC, according to Birmingham police. Still, more information is being gathered.

According to police, officers arrived on 10th Avenue near the FBI Birmingham headquarters on a report of a person shot, according to police. When they arrived, they discovered a male teen with a gunshot wound to the chest. Chico Guest, 17, was pronounced deceased on the scene. According to police, a second victim who was shot was found at UAB Hospital.

Bjcc Shooting In Birmingham-What Happened?

During Saturday’s high school basketball finals, chaos erupted at Birmingham’s BJCC, with claims ranging from several fights to an active shooter.

The disturbance occurred during the Class 6A boys’ championship game between Cullman and Huffman. Cullman won 58-50 over Huffman.

According to Birmingham police, there was no active shooter, and there was no indication of gunfire being fired either in or out of the downtown convention center.

Cullman’s coach and four players were in the postgame news conference when chaos broke out. The awards ceremony had already concluded.

According to authorities, officers responded to the gunshot in the 7500 block of 1st Avenue South at 3:00 p.m.

They discovered two people with gunshot wounds there. The juvenile’s injuries are potentially life-threatening, according to authorities, but there is no information on the other victim’s injuries.

Has The Suspect Been Found?

However, police seized two armed people near the scene of the event. However, it is unclear whether they were engaged in the incident. So far, there has been no word on what precipitated this incident.

In a previous shooting that happened near Bjcc, authorities said a preliminary investigation indicated Guest and the other guy injured in a prior incident near Bjc were reportedly involved in a robbery attempt when they were shot by a parking lot worker. The injured suspect and a female have already been detained for questioning.
