Celtic Star Alexandro Bernabei Arrested For DUI In Glasgow

Following an incident in Glasgow’s city center, Celtic player Alexandro Bernabei was taken into custody.

The 21-year-old was arrested and taken into police custody early Monday morning after the incident. Despite reports that he was apprehended for an alleged drink-driving offense, the police could not corroborate the arrest’s facts.

The Daily Record states that he was allegedly involved in a bust-up that resulted in a breach of the peace. He played as an unused substitute in Celtic’s 5-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park just hours before his arrest.

A 21-year-old male was detained in Glasgow City Center early this morning, Monday, August 15, according to a Police Scotland spokeswoman. There are ongoing inquiries. Bernabei joined Celtic in the summer, and the team soon predicted that he would be a smashing success as they pursued a win in the Champions League this year.

The Argentina U23 international signed a permanent contract during the transfer window, joining players like Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, and Benjamin Siegrist.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is already well-known to supporters after his loan from Tottenham last season was made permanent earlier this month. Benjamin Siegrist’s free transfer this week from Dundee United is meant to strengthen depth more than the starting lineup.
