After working for more than three years as a presenter for the 6PR Morning Program and almost two years for 6PR Breakfast, Gareth Parker finally decided to leave the program.
It is reportedly said; that he is willing to carry his position at Nine News Perth to the next level. Parker, a journalist and radio broadcaster from Western Australia, is slated to join Channel 9 Perth’s news team as news director.

“I’m looking forward to getting up the hill to the top of the Terrace…” the WA journalist of the year said after wearing the mantle of his new role at the channel. Parker announced leaving the breakfast show on August 8, Monday.
However, there has been no specific date for Parker’s transition into the new position. Before leaving, he will continue to broadcast for a while, and a successor presenter has not yet been named.
After a productive four-year tenure setting the agenda on Mornings from January 2017 to January 2020, award-winning journalist Gareth took over Breakfast in 2021. Besides, he also works simultaneously as a columnist for WAToday at Nine News.
