Michelle gave birth to Heather on May 19, 1992, in Guernsey. From a young age, she realized and admired her daughter’s passion for Tennis. Apparently, the mother even left her work to support Heather’s World Junior Circuit.

Heather Watson is a mix of Papua New Guinea and British ethnicity.

Her mother hails from Papua New Guinea. While Heather Watson’s father, Ian Watson, is a native of the United Kingdom. In addition to Heather, Michelle and Ian are parents to a son and two daughters. 

Ian used to work at Guernsey’s Electricity department from 1995. He reportedly retired from the post in 2010.  

Heather’s parents got her involved in Tennis as early as she was seven years old. By 12 years old, they had enrolled her at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy to further sharpen her skills.

In 2006, Watson further solidified her talent by winning the British Under-14 Championship. Moreover, she won the British Under-16 Championship the next year.
