Harvey Weinstein is set to be charged after the assault in London against women in 1966. He is already locked up in prison in Los Angeles.
Weinstein was fired from his firm and banned from the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences and Arts in October 2017 following sexual assault claims stretching back to the late 1970s.
By October 31, more than 80 women had submitted claims of sexual harassment and rape against Weinstein. The charges triggered the # MeToo social media campaign and additional sexual assault allegations against many influential men worldwide, a phenomenon known as the “Weinstein effect.”
Weinstein was arrested and convicted of rape in New York in May 2018, and in February 2020, he was held liable for two of five crimes.

Harvey Weinstein is already locked up in prison. He has already been sent to jail for 23 years. He will again be prosecuted with two counts of assault on a woman in London.
The Crown Prosecution Service said on Wednesday, June 8, that it has authorized the Metropolitan Police to prosecute Harvey Weinstein, 70, for two offenses of indecent assault on a lady in London in August 1996.
According to Metro.co.uk, Rosemary Ainslie, CPS Special Crime Division head, “Charges have been authorized against Harvey amid a review of the evidence acquired by the Metropolitan Police through its investigation.”

Harvey Weinstein’s Jail Sentence And Mugshot
Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood mogul who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape convictions and sexual assault, will also be charged with two counts of indecent assault in London in 1996 against a woman.
The Crown Prosecution Service said on Wednesday, June 8, that it has authorized the Metropolitan Police to prosecute Weinstein for two offenses of indecent assault on a lady in London in August 1996.
Harvey might face further jail time as a result of the new allegations.

While awaiting trial on 11 counts of rape and sexual assault, the disgraced producer is being kept at the Correctional Treatment Center, in the medical section of the Twin Towers jail in downtown Los Angeles.
In New York, he was sentenced to 23 years in jail in 2020.
