In Louisville, he attended Butler High School. His first golf recollection was at the age of two, when he used a toy set of clubs.

It occurred when he took a club out, took a swing, and the ball hit his father, who was videotaping him from behind the camera.

He explained that he began golf because he couldn’t jump high enough for basketball and was too slow for other sports.
