Jeffrey Valdez, 24, is a friend of Rapper Lil Tjay. Jeffrey was involved with Rapper Lil Tjay when they were attacked by a man. They were shot and robbed.
New Jersey police arrested Jeffrey Valdez and Antoine Boyd, both from the Bronx, who was with the rapper and allegedly armed when he was outside a shopping center in Edgewater.
The police told TMZ that the rapper had emergency surgery and was recovering, but was still not out of danger. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Edgewater Police Department under the directionof Chief Donald Martin.

Attempted Murder On Rapper Lil Tjay And Friend
Rapper Lil Tjay, legal name Tione Jayden Merritt, was shot at a shopping promenade in Edgewater just after midnight Wednesday, in an attempted robbery against the rapper and two of his friends.
Investigators have arrested the suspect of the attempted robbery, Mohamed Konate, 27, of New York City, on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offenses.

The rapper was with Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22, while the incident happened. The rapper was shot multiple times and it also injured Boyd, Prosecutors said Wednesday night.
Prosecutors had said earlier that one victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was by later described as stable, while the other victim was hospitalized with non-fatal injuries and is in “good” condition.
Jeffrey and Antoine both were also arrested following the incident on weapons possession charges and were both being held in Bergen County Jail. TMZ reported Wednesday morning that Merritt, underwent emergency surgery, citing law enforcement sources.
