Is Joanna Donnelly Leaving RTE Weather? Tattoo Tribute To Daughter Nicci

RTE became famous for presenting the weather on RTE, and it has been confirmed that she is not leaving RTE.

To begin with, she pursued applied maths at DCU, and afterwards, she joined Met Eireann in 1995, where she worked as a meteorological officer before being promoted to a meteorologist in 2000.

The meteorologist broke her toe, and it has been taking some time to recover. She shared what happened to her. She declared that she fell over on black ice, and she was compelled to take a break from running and cycling as a result. 

While she was taking a break from her usual television work on RTE News bulletins and The Today Show, Joanna has been busy arranging weather reports for those operating aircraft over Ireland with her Significant Meteorological Information forecasts.

Joanna is all set to release her own book-The Great Irish Weather Book, written by Donnelly and illustrated by Fuchsia MacAree.

Joanna Donnelly got a special tattoo in tribute to her teenage daughter Nicci. She revealed she got a lightning bolt tattoo on her stomach.

Joanna is blessed with three children: Nicci, Tobias, and Casper.

She opened up on what inspired her meteorological ink. She stated, “My daughter, Nicci, was experiencing that crucial period in a woman’s life when your body is growing, and I wanted her to know that your body is marvelous.”

She added, “I have a stretch mark on my body from giving birth, an uneven streak that looks like a lightning flash.” The tattoo artist thought I wanted to hide my stretch mark, but I wanted to show it off. ”

Moreover, her eldest child was the motivation behind her tattoo.

Joanna Donnelly is happily married to her husband, Harm Luijkx. He was her fellow forecaster from the Netherlands.

The couple first saw each other on a training course to become meteorologists in the UK. After being friends for a while, they both attended a friend’s wedding, got drunk, and ended up getting together.

Joanna shared in an interview how she had anxiety that something would happen to her husband and that she would be left to raise their children on her own.

Joanna has said her powerful relationship with Harm accompanied her through seven miscarriages. They both feel fortunate to have each other and are making an effort to live in a more environmentally friendly way, and recently alternated their two diesel cars for one electric car.

Overcoming different obstacles, Joanna and Harm have managed to enjoy every moment together and are also regarded as an inspiration couple for many people.
