Dennis Richmond is a former American news anchor who worked for KTVU in Oakland, California, for 40 years. He retired on May 26, 2008, on his 65th birthday, after 40 years with KTVU, including 31 as an anchor.
He began working at KTVU as a clerk typewriter on April 23, 1968, & rose through the ranks to become an anchor in 1976, making him one of the first African-Americans to hold the position of the lead anchor of a major-market television newscast. From 1978 until 1986, he co-anchored with Barbara Simpson.
