Joey Mantia Girlfriend Hanne Desmet Is A Belgian Short Track Speed Skater
Joey Mantia girlfriend Hanne Desmet is an Olympic bronze medalist speed skater. Joey and Hanne have been dating since February 2022.
Like Hanne, Mantia is also an Olympic bronze medalist. Desmet has been skating since the age of 16. She made history for Belgium in the 2022 Olympics by winning the bronze. However, she was hoping to secure silver.
She competed against Netherlands’ Suzanne Schulting, who took home the gold. In contrast, Korea’s Choi Min-Jeong took silver. Hanne was the flagbearer for Belgium at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Mantia also won his first Olympic medal, a bronze 2022 Winter Olympics held in Beijing, and he won the medal in the team pursuit with his US Team. Apart from being an athlete, he owns a coffee shop called Coffee Lab at the University of Utah. He is also a self-taught pianist.

Joey Mantia girlfriend Hanne Desmet is a track speed skater who plays for the club Ice Diamonds in Antwerp.
Desmet is from Wilrijk, Belgium. The 26-year-old speed skater is a force to be reckoned with for someone who didn’t actually know how to skate, as per her own mother. She holds three national Belgian all-around championships. This is even more impressive considering that she achieved this in 2018 when she won all in individual distances.
Not only that she has got more achievements under her belt to wow us all, but she also holds all of the Belgian records across all distances. Speed skating runs in the Desmet family. Desmet’s brother is also an Olympic short-track speed skater.
Likewise, she won silver at the 2021 World Short Track Speed Skating Championship for 1000mtrs.
And among her most significant accomplishments so far has been becoming the first-ever Belgian woman to take home a Winter Olympic game medal in an individual event. She won a bronze medal for Belgium in the event.
The skater’s guilty pleasure is to sing The Climb by Miley Cyrus, and one of her favorite TV shows is Family Guy.
Hanne says what drives her the most to achieve her list of accomplishments is proving someone wrong. She is an inspiration to all of us to keep going because we never know what’s next. We might only see her Olympics glory, but she failed sports in secondary school. But this didn’t stop her from making history.
Joey and Hanne Started Dating In 2022
Joey and Hanne made their relationship public in February during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.
Hanne revealed that they had been daring for quite some time before they publically announced that they were together. They were in a long-distance relationship before and couldn’t actually meet due to travel restrictions imposed by Covid-19 and since they were both preparing for the Olympics.
The couple reportedly spent this year’s Valentine’s together at the Olympic village. They have been together since the February of this year in 2022.
After that, speculations began if whether these two were together or not. Joey saved all the guesses and uploaded a picture of Hanne straddling him with a cheeky caption that hinted that the photo was an aftermath of him telling her that he could make pizza.
After making their relationship public in February, both of them spent a lot of time vacationing. They both have been spotted together on Joey’s Instagram going camping, spending a day at the beach, training together, and even taking a romantic vacation at Roma just for pizza.
Just in May of this year 2022, Joey posted a video of them skating through peaceful roads surrounded by trees on either side.
