Shane Crawford is a well-known name in AFL. The present head coach for Ardmona Cats, Shane professionally played for the Hawthorn from 1992 to 2008.

However, a minor group of people knows about his brother, Justin Crawford, who was also a football legend in the 1990s. Sadly, Justin is no more with us today. 

Tragedy in AFL Community: What Happened To Justin Crawford?

Former AFL player and brother of Shane Crawford, Justin Crawford, has died.  The unfortunate news was confirmed by Australia’s leading information outlet, The Herlard Sun on Thursday. 

Speaking about his younger sibling’s departure,  Shane said, “We are all grieving.” He continued, “We are so sad. He was a much-loved brother and son.”

Crawford was an extremely talented midfielder-forward footballer. He made his AFL debut in 1995 with the Sydney Swans at just 18 years old. 

After only one season with the Swans, Justin joined his brother in the Hawthorn Football Club. He played 14 games for the team, before retiring early at the age of 21 years old. 

Despite having two years more contract, Justin ditched his career as a footballer in order to travel more.

Justin Crawford’s untimely demise has come as shock to everybody. He was only 45 years old in age. 

The former footballer had not reported any chronic illness or disease. Similarly, there is no mention of accidents, mishaps, or foul plays. Therefore, it is probable that Justin Crawford’s died of natural reasons. 

However, Justin Crawford’s death cause is not known for now. The ordeal is still in the developing phase. Meanwhile, sans have flooded the social media feed with RIP posts for the late athlete. 

Crawford’s passing away has sent a shockwave in the community. Despite having a short-lived career, every Australian football fan from the 90s pretty much remembers his talent.

During his entire career, Justin played 46 games and scored 26 goals. Though he reemerged in 2005 to play for South Fremantle in WAFL, he stayed at the club for only one year. 

Heartbroken Family – Justin Crawford Partner Status 

Justin Crawford was born on March 20, 1977, in a family of three siblings. His parents are Dianne Crawford and Ray Crawford. 

Besides Shane, Justin has another brother named Andrew Crawford. Likewise, he grew up in Finley, New South Wales Australia.

The veteran Swans player developed an early passion for football. Furthermore, witnessing his brother’s glory in the field added further fuel to his raging fire. 

Nonetheless, once he became a pro, Justin realized that football wasn’t the cup of his tea. Therefore, he forwent his dream of becoming an athlete and pursued a laid-back traveling life instead.

Unlike his Brownlow Medal recipient brother, Justin chose a low-key life. In fact, Justin Crawford rarely talked about his partner and children in front of the camera.
