The Strange Case Of Texas A&M Student Kerry Kujawa
Kerry Kujawa, a student at Texas A&M, went to see his online love interest Kelley McCauley in San Antonio one spring day, but he never returned. His decayed body was found 130 miles distant on a barren grassland two weeks later.
Kerry had been conversing with a person he believed to be a young lady under the username “kelly mc” over the internet. They had met in an online chat room. Her true name was “Kelly McCauley,” and she appeared to be a pleasant pre-law student caught in a disastrous relationship.
Over the months, they seemed to get closer and closer, and ultimately Kerry started to urge Kelly to meet up in person so that he could assist her. Kerry left university to see her in San Antonio on April 7, 2000, after he reportedly became increasingly intent on helping her.
Around a week after his disappearance, Kujawa’s family and friends allegedly got an email from him that ensured his well-being and also said that he had decided to stay with McCauley a little longer.
On April 19, his body was discovered on a property in Hays County close to Dripping Springs. He had a gunshot hole at the back of his skull.
The police successfully identified Kujawa’s murderer after conducting a comprehensive investigation. An ex-assistant manager at McDonald’s, Kenny Wayne Lockwood, was a thirty-one-year-old guy.
The investigation revealed that Lockwood created Kelly McCauley to meet with young males. He lured Kelly with the help of a fake persona, met and later shot him to death.

On April 28, 2022, Kenny Lockwood, a 31-year-old former McDonald’s worker, was put behind bars on suspicion of impersonating a lady in an online chat room in order to lure a male Texas A&M student Kelly to a lethal encounter.
Bail was imposed at $250,000 after Lockwood was charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Texas resident Kerry Kujawa.
Sam Williams, a detective at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, stated that all evidence points to Mr. Lockwood being “Kelly”. In a posh area of San Antonio, Kenny Wayne Lockwood used to reside with his parents before he committed his crime.

One of his classmates described him as a “soft-hearted, idealistic, or romantic individual” Moreover, Kerry’s father, John Kujawa, slammed internet users by saying that the internet platform is not wrong, but the people using it are.

Furthermore, nowadays, many online dating apps and platforms may serve as a breeding ground for such horrendous crimes. People need to be extra attentive while using such apps.
