Naira Ashraf was killed because she blocked the killer on Facebook. She was stabbed by a knife outside Mansoura University in Egypt by her classmate on June 20, 2022. Her family said that she was the victim of cyberbullying as well.

She was a student of the Faculty of Arts at Mansoura University. The incident was horrifying as the killer took her life in front of more than 30 eyewitnesses in broad daylight.

She was going to attend her classes at the university like other regular days. However, that day was proved to be her last day as her classmate, suspected of being her lover, stabbed her to death.

Naira’s father told the police that the boy was harassing her on Facebook. He had initially proposed to Naira for marriage. Things started to stumble after she rejected the proposal and blocked that guy on Facebook.

Authorities have not revealed the identity of the killer to the media yet. However, it this known that the killer is a student of the same university where Niara was studying. According to The Daily Beast, the killer is addressed as Mohommad A by the authorities.

Nayera Ashraf’s Twitter Video Explained

According to eyewitnesses, the young man, who wanted to marry Nayera, stabbed the young lady in front of the gate as she walked to the bus stop to return to her house in al-Mahalla, Gharbeya region. When people tried to detain him, he slaughtered her by stabbing her in the neck with a knife.

Security and passers-by eventually captured and controlled him. The victim was sent to the hospital in severe condition, but she died before receiving treatment. After continuously beating the guy, the people handed him over to the police.

Killer Conessed In Front Of Police On Monday

The accused said he chose to execute the crime after many failed efforts to communicate with the victim for over a year and a half via Facebook. He wanted to marry Nayera, but she wasn’t ready for the marriage and denied him. She had blocked the killer and even on Facebook, which raised the tension between them.

More than 40 witnesses were at the university’s gate when the unfortunate event happened. One of those eyewitnesses was Ibrahim Al-Ajroudi, a security officer who could arrest the criminal almost soon after the crime.

Every moment of the incident was recorded by a surveillance camera planted at the university’s gate. Efforts to take down those videos are being done. However, the videos are being viral on the internet as it is being shared by many users on various social media platforms across the world.
