His mother is disabled, and his family used to rely on her disability payments. His family struggled financially as he grew older. When they could not pay their rent, their electricity was cut off, and they were evicted. They didn’t always have enough money to eat.
His father died sometime in 2017. However, the cause of his death is unknown. His older sister is one of Toronto’s top emergency psychiatrists.
