Professional boxer Tyson Fury is mourning the death of his cousin, Rico Burton. According to him, Burton was stabbed to death last night in the United Kingdom. Sources say that the two of them were close to each other. 

Following the tragic message of his cousin’s death, the former world heavyweight champion begged the government of the UK to take action against increasing gun and knife violence. Such deaths have been so prominent that the news of stabbings is so common in the country.

It was Fury who shared the message of Burton’s demise on social media. Sharing to millions of followers on Instagram, he made an emotional post about how “idiots” can carry knives and harm innocent people on the streets. 

Following Burton’s murder, social media has come together to appeal to stop such behavior. Netizens are urging the government to make strict laws against gun and knife violence.

Tyson Fury shared an emotional post about Burton on Instagram. 

The boxer said, ” “My cousin was murdered last night, stabbed in the neck. This is becoming ridiculous idiots carry knives. This needs to stop ASAP. UK government needs to bring higher sentencing for knife crime, it’s a pandemic, and you don’t know how bad it is until it’s one of your own!”

“Life is very precious, and it can be taken away very quick enjoy every moment. RIP RICO BURTON. May the Lord God grant you a good place in heaven. see you soon.” Fury gave no further details on the attack or indicated where it happened,” he added. 

Many of his fans on social media have rhythm themselves in the appeal against such violence. They are pouring Burton’s family with heartfelt messages. 

Journalist Danny Armstrong wrote on Twitter, “RIP Rico Burton. I didn’t know Rico personally, but I know lads from his family. Good honest, fighting men. Far more brave than a coward with a knife.”

“So sorry for your families sad loss. You are right make the sentence a proper one, and they might think twice about carrying a knife. Let your voice be heard Tyson, use your platform to get it across and campaign for a better future for our kids,” A user urged on Twitter.

Rick Burton’s killer is yet to be arrested. 

Until now, the authorities haven’t given any information about the stabber. They are currently investigating as they reportedly don’t have any suspects in custody for now.
