What Happened To Scott Austic? Case Update

Scott Austic was wrongfully convicted to jail over the murder of his pregnant secret lover in Western Australia.

Stacey Throne, a West Australian lady, was killed in 2007 and received 21 stab wounds while at her house in Boddington.

Scott, Stacey Thorne’s lover, was charged with intentional murder and sentenced to life in prison in 2009.

The appeal court also accepted the testimony of an expert forensic pathologist, Richard Shepherd, who testified that the knife’s blade was not long enough to inflict some of Ms Thorne’s fatal wounds.

A retrial in the WA Supreme Court in November 2020 found Scott Austic not guilty, with the jury just taking hours to reach a unanimous conviction.

Scott Austic, now a free man, is considering pursuing restitution for his unjust conviction.
