According to Queerty and ESPN, which both deemed the tweet to be homophobic, Piercy is losing several sponsorships, including those from Titleist, FootJoy, and J.Lindeberg, totalling over $2 million in lost subsidies.

A further statement from the PGA Tour said, “We were made aware of Scott’s tweet and are unhappy in the lack of judgment employed.”
