Scott Satterfield Wife Beth Satterfield Ran Track At Appalachian State

Scott Satterfield wife Beth Satterfield was a star athlete at Appalachian State. Scott and Beth met during their time at ASU.

The couple has now been married for 26 years and is parents to three kids, who have followed in their footsteps. The two former athletes tied the knot right after graduating from ASU.

Though the couple had to go through many troubling times during their initial days of being married, in the end, it turned out to be the best decision for both of them.

From living in lodges to having to make ends meet with a $7000 salary annually, the couple now lives an opulent lifestyle. Last week, Scott penned a $22.5 million deal with Cincinnati and has become their 43rd head coach.

Scott Satterfield wife Beth Satterfield was a hurdler and ran track at Appalachian State in the early 90s.

It was also in the early 90s that the couple met at Appalachian State University during their first year as college students. At the time, she went by her maiden name Beth Burleson.

The two-star athletes of ASU instantly clicked on their first date leading them to a marriage that has lasted for over two decades.

During her heyday, Beth created havoc for her opponents on the track field. If her boyfriend was trying to make himself the starting choice for the quarterback position, then Beth was breaking records in track. The two were walk-on athletes of ASU.

Beth competed in 400m hurdle races and would reach the finish line in one minute. Maybe if she did take her athletic life seriously, the US could have had an Olympic-level player for them.

But she opted to quit her track life and become a dedicated partner to Scott and was with him in every step of his long journey to reach the top of coaching merits. Beth had an idea of a coach’s life as her father was a Mars Hill football team coach.

She might no longer be an athlete, but she has chosen to contribute to her field differently. The mother of three, Beth, with her husband, supports the organization, A Mountaineer Impact, A Drive For Excellence.

The organization works to provide scholarships to students interested in football and track and field. A nice nod to the two sports that brought them fame during their college days.

Scott Satterfield And Beth Satterfield 26 Beautiful Years of Marriage

Scott Satterfield and Beth Satterfield have been happily married for the past 26 years.

The two tied the knot in 1996, right after graduating from ASU. The college lovers turned life partners had a fair share of struggles to reach the point they have attained today.

But in these 26 years, there wasn’t a single point where the two lacked faith in each other. When Scott was making just $7000 from his coaching duties, Beth was there, and last week when he penned a $3.5 million contract, she knew he deserved every bit of success.

Often than not, whenever football coaches’ success stories are written, the reason for it all pinpoints their family life. And if the Cincinnati coach didn’t have an understanding partner, things could’ve easily gone south.

Sacrificing her athlete career to raise their family, relocating with Scott without questioning whether the next job would pan out as they had thought, the back-and-forth commute could’ve readily taken a toll.

On top of all these sacrifices was only a measly salary to back the family. But maybe Beth knew all the pain in Scott’s early coaching career would make their later lives more vibrant than they looked at the time.

And so it did. The sacrifices Beth put up with haven’t gone unseen by Scott, so the Cincinnati coach always stresses the fact in his interviews. In 2016, he revealed that he paid for the spa treatment of all the ladies at Appachalin.

A hectic schedule takes a toll not only on the coach but on his family as well. Not being present at your kid’s school function, missed holiday plans, and family events can ruin many families.

But Beth was on top of everything going around in her home. She made sure to take care of their three kids and help Scott navigate his schedule. Every marriage needs the couple to work together to make it successful, and they mastered it at the very beginning of theirs.

When Scott became the head coach at ASU, Beth transformed the atmosphere of college football. With the wives of the coaching staff at ASU, Beth would help deliver meals to the college for their husbands.

They would also help the parents of the kids and answer all of their queries. Even the new staffs at ASU would say they had never seen such a captivating atmosphere in college football. In an interview, Scott’s spouse said every victory made every sacrifice worth it.
