Tashaun Gipson Wife Is A Big Part Of His NFL Career

Tashaun Gipson is the father of three children with his wife and has shared his children’s pictures on his Instagram account.

The football player is blessed with two sons and a daughter. He often posts about them on his Instagram account to wish his kids a happy birthday. He has shared numerous photos of his children, but he has never shared any pictures of their mother.

Gipson chose to enroll at the University of Wyoming not just to play with his brother, Marcell Gipson, but also to have the opportunity to play early in the season. The Gipson brothers were cornerbacks for the Wyoming Cowboys football team from 2008 to 2010.

Tashaun began his senior year of high school as a cornerback, but he changed to safety for the final eight contests. Throughout his college career at Wyoming, Gipson started each game.

Tashaun Gipson agreed to a one-year, $1,120,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, which included an average annual salary of $1,120,000. Tashaun has a net worth of $5.5million. 

Gipson agreed to a five-year, $36 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on March 10, 2016, which included a $4 million signing bonus and a $12 million guarantee. 

He and the Houston Texans agreed to a three-year, $22.55 million contract on March 12, 2019. Along with teammates Joe Haden and Joe Thomas, it was announced on December 23, 2014, that Gipson had been selected to play in the 2015 Pro Bowl.

The Pro Football Writers of America’s Chicago chapter has chosen outside linebacker Robert Quinn of the Bears and safety Tashaun Gipson Sr. as co-winners of the 2021 Chicago Media Jeff Dickerson Good Guy Award.

Gipson grew up in a Dallas household as the fourth child to his parents. To alternate between names that began with M and T, his mother came up with the name Tashaun.

The names of his siblings are Anitra, Mike, Terriyon, Marcell, and Taneah. At Mountain West schools, three of the brothers Gipson played football.

Tashaun and Marcell were teammates for the Wyoming Cowboys, while Terriyon was a running back for the New Mexico Lobos. Gipson was a Cowboys fan growing up, but he put that behind him when he entered the NFL.

However, he has always been devoted to the neighborhood basketball team. He took pride in being an avid supporter long before Dirk Nowitzki and Mark Cuban appeared.

Although NFL players are typically contractually prohibited from engaging in such risky activities, he intends to skydive at some time in his life.

He And His Brother Marcell Played For Wyoming Cowboys

Tashaun and Marcell couldn’t play together in high school due to their age difference. However, Marcell redshirted the following year after gray-shirting his first in Laramie.

The Gipson brothers covered the Cowboys’ secondary for three seasons together after Tashaun earned a starting position as a true freshman.

Tashaun’s move from Dallas to Laramie, a town of 30,000 people at an elevation of 7,165 feet, was facilitated by Marcell’s presence. Tashaun Gipson did not have any interceptions as a freshman, but he and his brother Marcell both had ten passes intercepted, which tied them for the team lead.

Gipson signed a three-year contract with the Cleveland Browns on April 29, 2012, after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was positioned behind veterans Ray Ventrone and Eric Hagg on the Browns’ depth chart for the start of the regular season by head coach Pat Shurmur.

His first career tackle was on Brandon Boykin during a 29-yard kickoff return in the first quarter of the Cleveland Browns’ 17-16 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he made his regular-season debut.

Gipson started his first career against the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 25, 2012, taking Usama Young’s position at free safety. He had two solo tackles during the 20-14 victory.

The football player got his second consecutive start the following week, and in a 20-17 win over the Oakland Raiders, he recorded a season-high eight combined tackles. After Usama Young left during free agency and Eric Hagg was let go, he reported to training camp in 2013 to start as the free safety.

Johnson Bademosi offered him some minor opposition for the position. Gipson starts the regular season as the starting free safety alongside solid safety T. J. Ward under new head coach Rob Chudzinski.
