A video of Tenzin Norbu is trending on Reddit and Twitter. As seen in the video, a man poured a liquid substance on the woman and ignited it, resulting in a fire.
Shortly after the incident, officers were called to the Kipling subway station, near Kipling Avenue and Dundas Street West.
Norbu is accused of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, common annoyance, and mischief. The Police investigation has revealed that the incident was motivated by a hate crime.

After the incident, the victim was sent to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in critical condition. She has suffered serious burns with life-threatening injuries. Reports have revealed that she suffered second and third-degree burns. There have not been any new reports on the woman.
According to the police, the Asian man had fled the area but later he was taken into custody. They are still investigating the attack that saw the woman on fire on a TTC bus.
The attack on Friday comes on the heels of at least two other significant subway station attacks in Toronto. Kartik Vasudev, an international student, was killed in an April shooting near the Sherbourne subway station.

Tenzin Norbu is a 33 years old Toronto-based man. He is a Buddhist monk.
Some people have believed that the man could be a lefty activist and some say that he has a common link with Yannick Bandaogo and Osman Osman.
The attacker is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Ave. W. on Monday morning. His mugshot has also been shared on Reddit. As per the news updates, Norbu is currently under police custody.
He has been charged with the following offenses: attempted murder, assault with a weapon, common nuisance endanger, and, mischief over $5000-Interfere with the property.
Meanwhile, the victim is believed to be a 20-year-old woman. She was helped by TTC employees and citizens nearby.

Tenzin Norbu is currently based in Toronto. However, the suspect’s name is Tibetan and it appears that he has an Asian origin.
Meanwhile, the authorities have not released any specific details about his parents and family members.
