Tony was born on September 14, 1989, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kelepi and Ravena Finau. Tony was one of the seven children of his parents. There are two sisters and four brothers among his six siblings. His father was born and brought up in Tonga. Later, when he was 12 years old, he moved to the United States. He met Ravena there.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Utah to begin a new chapter of their life. They managed to raise all seven children as residents of Utah. Kelepi eventually mastered golf after relocating to Utah. After that, he taught his boys everything he had learned.

Finau’s Ethnicity Is Mixture Of Tongan and Samoan

Finau is the first Tongan and Samoan ethnicity golfer to play on the PGA Tour. One of his brothers, Gipper Finau, is also a professional golfer with the same background but has yet to achieve achievements in his golf career. At 16, Gipper qualified for the Utah EnergySolutions Championship but was unsuccessful as a professional tournament player.

Finau is also widely known for his social works. He is the director of the Tony Finau Foundation, a group that empowers young people and their families in the neighborhood. In addition, he is a very religious person with a strong faith in Christianity. He is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tony Finau Started A Family With His Wife, Alayna Finau

Tony is a married man who shares his married life with his beautiful wife, Alayna. The couple already has five children and hopes to get one more child in the future. Nene Finau, Jraice Finau, Tony Finau, Jr., and Sage Finau are the names of his five kids and have smaller age gaps.

Tony has expressed his desire to have multiple children and that he and his wife intend to have a large family of at least five or six members. According to Tony, large families are relatively frequent among Polynesians. While Alayna has four siblings, three sisters and a brother, Tony, for instance, has five brothers and three sisters.

An Insight On Tony Finau’s 2022 PGA Tour So Far

Finau won the 3M Open in July 2022, giving him three PGA Tour victories. When the final round started, Finau was five shots behind tournament leader Scott Piercy and one back of second-place Emiliano Grillo.

However, things changed on the back nine when Piercy shot a final-round 76 with a back-nine 41, and Finau shot a final-round 67 with a 33, which included a bogey six at last. Finau won the Rocket Mortgage Classic a week later to complete a winning streak.

The foundation of his outstanding career was laid in 2006 before his professional career began. He defeated future PGA Tour player Daniel Summerhays in the 36-hole championship match to win the Utah State Amateur Championship that year.
