Wassili Beg Schiff – Rescue Tug Spasatel Ship Vasily Bekh Ukraine

The recent news by News Week revealed that Ukraine’s navy tweeted on Friday that the Russian tugboat Spasatel Vasily Bekh had been “successfully demilitarized.” The rescue tug Spasatel Vasily Bekh Ukraine stated Russia might have sunk the Russian tug Vasily Bekh – SB-739.

During the war, these tugs were visible on satellite footage operating in and around the Black Sea region. Blue Sauran, shared a 21 seconds video of May 19, showing two such tugs operating near Snake Island. The two missiles were hit in the tug boat.

People even gossiped that Russia has examined strapping TOR SAM systems on the back as makeshift air defense.

Russian Navy Made Rescue Tug Spasatel Vasily Bekh (SB-739)

Rescue Tug Spasatel Vasily Bekh (SB-739) is a rescue ship invented for the human development and welfare of the country during catastrophic incidents.

According to KCHF, the Russian Navy Rescue ship Spasatel Vasily Bekh (SB-739) is  by OJSC DB “Vympel.” It was designed for towing ships in distress, and fire fighting on crafts, vessels, including floating and shore facilities. We must say that the rescue ship is a versatile craft.

Also, it is used to water pumps and electricity supply to emergency vessels. In addition to this, to evacuation and medical treatment of rescued people, diving works at depths down to 60 m, rescue and inspection operations as well as petroleum product recovery. 

Wassili Beg Rescue Tug SB-739 was laid down at the Zvezdochka Shipyard, Astrakhan. It was launched on August 2, 2016, and commissioned on 16th January 2017. The tug has lots of benefits for the country if used wisely.

The ship was renamed Spasatel Vasily Bekh on 19 April 2021. It is in use now, a source confirmed.

Ukraine Demilitarized The Sunk Russian Tug Vasily Bekh – SB-739- Successfully

According to Ukraine’s Navy, On Friday, the Ukraine defense forces confirmed the Russian tugboat Spasatel Vasily Bekh had been “successfully demilitarized.” The short video of the two Harpoon missiles struck in the tug boat was shared on Twitter.

The tweet wrote next to an image of the vessel with “Red Cross” drawn on it. The ship was transferring weapons and ammunition to the occupied Snake Island. 

The project is 22870 –class tug. As per our research, there are six ships and tugs invented by the Russian Navy, the first entering service in 2014. One more is under construction lately.
