With the news that the Boston Bruins had signed Miller, despite the controversy surrounding him, the 20-year-old American professional ice hockey player was again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Miller is a player formerly drafted by the Coyotes and is currently under contract with the Bruins of the American Hockey League. He has been allowed to compete in the National Hockey League for a second time after it was announced on Friday that the Bruins had signed Miller to an AHL contract.

However, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is not particularly happy with the Bruins signing the younger as he was involved in a bullying and maltreating scandal. He added that the Boston Bruins did not inform league authorities before the club signed Miller.

“He’s not coming into the NHL, he’s not eligible at this point to come into the NHL,” Bettman said. “Nobody should think he is or may ever be NHL eligible at this point. And the Bruins understand that now.”
