Mats Zuccarello is back on the ice ring after recovering from an injury and looks ready to play the game against the St. Louis Blues.
Mats André Zuccarello Aasen, otherwise known as Mats Zuccarello, is a professional ice hockey winger from Norway who currently plays for the Minnesota Wild of the NHL.
He was also a member of the New York Rangers and the Dallas Stars, earning himself the nickname “Lizard”. Zuccarello was a member of the Swedish Elite League’s Modo Hockey team prior to joining the NHL.
He won the Guldhjälmen (Golden Helmet) award in 2010, which is given to the Swedish Hockey League’s most valuable player each year. He is considered to be one of Norway’s most successful NHL players.

Zuccarello Injury Update- What Happened To Him?
Mats Zuccarello was out of the regular-season finale against the Colorado Avalanche at Xcel Energy Center on Friday night due to a lower-body injury. He hasn’t played since April 22, when the Wild defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-3.
Zuccarello, however, appears to be available for the start of the NHL playoffs this week. He was seen practicing the morning before the game against the St. Louis Blues.

Coach Dean Evason along with Zuccarello’s fans remain highly optimistic about his return in Game 1. Zuccarello’s injury seems to have healed up to the point he can get back on the ice and play competitively.

Wife And Family Of The Ice Hockey Player Zuccarello
Zuccarello is not married and does not have a wife. However, when people started asking if he was gay due to a picture he uploaded of him and Carl Hagelin on July 15, 2017, where his caption is an engagement ring and a heart.
However, Zuccarello appeared as the best man at his friend’s wedding.
Born 1 September 1987, Zuccarello grew up in a large family in the Oslo suburbs of Løren and was five when he first picked up a hockey stick to play. After a few years at Hasle-Løren, he moved to Vålerenga, where he remained until the end of lower secondary school.
Already a star on the ice, he had already been scouted by Frisk Asker, who offered him a scholarship to the Norwegian College of Elite Sport, which he excitedly accepted.
Zuccarello is part Italian because of his mother. Fabian Zuccarello, Zuccarello’s younger brother, plays in the Norwegian First Division, and Robin Dahlstrøm, Zuccarello’s stepbrother, played in both Sweden and Norway before retiring in 2021.

Where Is Zuccarello Now?
After Wild earned a 6-3 win over the Seattle Kraken on April 22, Mats Zuccarello had not been seen on the ice for some time and had even missed the regular-season finale due to an injury.
However, he is back on the ice practicing and looks to be ready to play the series opener against the St. Louis Blues.
