Miranda Elish will compete in the NCAA Women’s College World Series against her sister. Madi Elish, a freshman pitcher at Arizona, is five years her junior.
For the match taking place this week, Madi made her way from Tucson, Miranda from Stillwater, and the rest of the Elish family from Crown Point, Indiana.
On the first day of the tournament, the two sisters will share the field as OSU and Arizona will face off.

Miranda Elish is a senior pitcher for the softball team at Oklahoma State. Out of the six ethnic groups recognized by the USA, she is labeled as white.
Elish was the nation’s top recruit in 2017, going 49-2 in her first two seasons at Oregon before transferring to Texas.
Instead of returning for a fifth season, she packed her belongings and relocated to Birmingham, Alabama. While there, she worked as a private softball instructor.
Miranda Elish was supposed to finish her college career in 2020, and then life happened. Now, 2 years later, she gets to face her little sister in the WCWS- something that never would have happened if things went according to the original plan. I think that’s just so special.

Elish had no intention of returning when she walked away from the softball scene in 2020. Because she was dealing with depression and anxiety, she felt she had to prioritize her mental health.
Softball was a part of her identity, and she wanted to know who she was without it. However, while working as a softball coach for young girls, she was inspired to give it another go.

Insight On Miranda Elish Parents
Miranda Elish was brought up by her parents, Casey and Dawn Elish. While her mother, Dawn worked with middle school students all day, her father worked as a businessman.
The softball player went to Crown Point High School and began playing softball at the age of five after being inspired by her mother, who was a softball player in her younger years.
In fact, Miranda was a member of the high school basketball team before she dropped out of the team to concentrate on softball.

Elish has two siblings: Brady Elish, who is 13 years her junior, and Madi Elish, both of whom are athletes and participate in sports.
According to Casey, Madi turned down Oregon to play at Arizona because she wanted to carve out her own path.
Madi chose to wear the number 19, representing her birthday, instead of the number her mother wore in high school and the number Miranda wears, 40, in Arizona.

Miranda is 24-years-old as she was born on September 30, 1997, in Crown Point, Indiana. Weighing 65 kg, she stands at the height of 5’9”.
Elish was named National Sophomore of the Year by MaxPreps in 2014. In 2018 and 2019, she was named to USA Softball’s Top 50 Preseason Watch List for National Collegiate Player of the Year.
At age 21, she was named a second-team All-American by the NFCA in 2018.
After a successful senior year, she enrolled in the “Oregon State University Ducks” before transferring to Texas State University.
