Leni Robredo Daughter Aika Robredo Is The Director Of An NGO Called Restart Micro-Enterprise

Jessica Marie Robredo, better known as Aika, has chosen to work with an NGO to help people reclaim their livelihoods after falling victim to disasters. 

RestartME offers low-interest loans to microfinance institutions and cooperatives.

Aika also oversees a foundation named after her father, which aims to carry on his legacy of genuine public service and governance.

Growing up in the existence of public servants, she has learned the value of hard work and what it means to serve. 

Aika learned from a very young age from her parents to make what she does meaningful.

Leni Robredo Daughter Aika Robredo Work In An NGO

Aika Robredo, the eldest daughter of Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo, has worked as an executive director at Restart Micro-Enterprise Inc (RestartME), a wholesale microfinance NGO, for the past four years.

Through its member microfinance institutions, RestartME assists micro-entrepreneurs in recovering from disasters by providing financing and business development grants.

RestartME has offered assistance to those affected by natural or man-made disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and the Marawi Siege. The NGO has helped the rice farmers affected by the Rice Tariffication Law get back on their feet.

It has recently been active in assisting those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The organization has so far extended P160 million worth of loans to almost 15,000 households since 2018.

Jessica “Aika” Marie Robredo Degree Education And Credentials 

Jessica Marie “Aika” Gerona Robredo received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management Engineering with honors from Ateneo de Manila University. Before joining the government, she worked for four years in the private sector for a multinational oil company.

Robredo worked for the Department of National Defense’s Office of Civil Defense until she decided to resign to campaign for her mother. 

Robredo co-founded the Philippine Toy Library. She is also the President of the TAYO Awards Foundation and the Chairperson of the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation.

In 2018, Aika graduated from Harvard Kennedy School with a master’s degree in public administration (MPA).

What Is The Age Of Jessica “Aika” Marie Robredo?

Born to Vice President Leni Robredo and the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo in Naga City on January 12, 1988, Aika Robredo is 34 years of age. 

She applied to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) for the position of Road Sector Technical Assistant to the Secretary. She later went to work as the Head Executive Assistant at the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in 2014.

During super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013, she did her first disaster-related work. She grew up in a city where getting hit by several typhoons a year was considered normal.

After receiving her MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, she was inspired to return to disaster-related work after seeing adults move refrigerators and other household appliances to higher ground due to the flood.
