Amaka, Ike’s mother, was a high school running champion who, after emigrating to the United States in the 1980s, now supervises T.J.’s family-owned corporation.

His father works at Eastowne Family Medicine and is a graduate of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine in Nsukka.
