Brittani Coury is a registered nurse and a two-time Olympic Paralympian who is representing Team USA in Beijing 2022.
Brittani Coury broke her right ankle while snowboarding in 2003. When her ankle continued to cause problems for her in the years that followed, she decided to amputate her leg below the knee on June 11.
This was a decision she made after nine surgeries as she wanted to have more of an active life. She decided to be a registered nurse after being treated by them while she was injured.
She started competing in Para snowboarding in the year 2016. In the year 2018, she won her first Paralympic silver medal in banked slalom.

Brittani Coury, age 35, was born on March 27, 1986 in Farmington, New Mexico to parents with whom she is not particularly close and claims to be estranged.
She does, however, have a sister with whom she is very close and regards as her twin, mother, and sister despite the fact that they are not twins. She was adopted into a family at the age of 28, though not legally, and claims to be closer to them than her biological parents.
She started snowboarding when she was around 14 years old. It was an outlet for the troubled childhood she had growing up.
It was her love for snowboarding since the first time she strapped it on her feet that inspired her to become an instructor.
