Reddit: Did Chris Chan Escaped The Prison?

There are reports that Chris Chan has escaped from prison; however, the news has yet to be confirmed.

The YouTuber and blogger, whose real name is Christine Weston Chandler, was arrested at Virginia’s Henrico County Regional Jail West.

After being arrested on an incest charge, she could spend up to 10 years in prison. On July 31, 2021, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office reported that officers “received information about sex crimes against a family member, who resides in the Ruckersville area.”

A day after an arrest warrant was issued, “Christine Weston Chandler, aka Chris Chan of Ruckersville, VA” was found and was arrested by the Henrico Police Department.

Incest is a Class 5 felony in Virginia that carries “a period of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than ten years, or in the discretion of the jury or the court deciding the matter without a jury, incarceration in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not more than $2,500, either or both.”

Sonichu, a Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokemon comic character created by Chan, has been the subject of various works of art since 2004. Rosechu, the series’ love interest for Sonichu, was another character she created.

Why Was Chris Chan Arrested?

Christine Chandler, also known online as Chris Chan, was detained on August 1 and charged with incest when it was revealed that she had intercourse with her mother, 79, in a leaked phone call.

She claimed she couldn’t afford legal representation during Chris’ initial court arraignment. As a result, David Heilberg was chosen by judge Kenneth Andrew Sneathern to represent Chan.

The Greene County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court was also assigned to the case by the judge (JDR). Chris requested that the court identify her as a woman at her upcoming court appearance.

Although she was transgender, the Central Virginia Regional Jail had assigned her a male gender. In a 2017 ” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Facebook post, Chan came out as transgender and, according to court documents, legally changed her name to Christine.

Since her arrest, Chris has been held in state custody. According to some stories, she spent several months at the Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia, before going back to the Central Virginia Regional just before her late July 2022 court date. It’s unclear why the facility was recommended to Chris by the authorities.

People have started tweeting and conversing about Chris Chan as there are rumors that she has escaped. Chris Chan’s court case, which recently went before a grand jury and generated attention online once more, is still riddled with misinformation.

After serving more than a year in jail, Kristen Chandler’s trial will move forward and go before a grand jury, prompting many to wonder what is happening and some to call the court to inquire about it.

Although there has been discoursing about the crime, the trial has begun, and there have been recent rumors of persons being summoned to court, none of these things seem to be taking place right now.

A grand jury might theoretically decide to indict Chris-Chan for a felony or not if there was sufficient concrete evidence to support the charges.

Chandler and the defense didn’t really participate in the grand jury phase of the trial while the state tried to evaluate their evidence and build charges, which they decided was best glued on, despite what the fan art depicting Chris-Chan in court indicates.
