Inside Shawn Hochuli and Wife Cristina Hochuli Married Life: Ed Hochuli Son

Shawn is a married man. He is happily wedded to his wife, Cristina Hochuli, who he dated for years before finally competing in a marriage. The couple has been together for almost a decade now, and there haven’t been any bitter incidents in their life that could deteriorate their beautiful relationship.

They began dating in 2013, shortly before Shawn’s entry into NFL as an official. Later in January 2014, they announced their engagement via Facebook. Just after a year, in 2015, they married in the presence of their family and friends, following all the necessary rituals. The couple’s relationship has been rock solid since then, and there hasn’t been any force in this world that could deviate that foundation from its original position.

The couple is blessed with three children. Their eldest son, Krew, was born on January 14, 2016. The second child and their only daughter, Kooper Lynne, were born on April 2, 2018, while the youngest member of the family, Kolt Hochuli, was born on March 10, 2020, as their second son. The children are thrilled and are enjoying their childhood in the presence of both parents. Cristina occasionally uploads pictures of her children on her Facebook page. 

Shawn is one of the six children of former NFL official Ed Hochuli.

Ed’s name and legacy in the NFL will be remembered for ages. He was the greatest of all time during his prime time and had also professionally competed in multiple sports, including football, basketball, wrestling, and track racing. In 1969, he went to Canyon del Oro High School in the Tucson enclave of Oro Valley, Arizona, where he ultimately received his diploma. After finishing high school, he graduated with honors from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1972.

Hochuli spent his time at UTEP as a linebacker for the football team from 1969 through 1972. He received academic All-Western Athletic Conference recognition in football in 1972. From 1990 to 2017, he served as an NFL official. He has worked as an attorney with Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, P.L.C. since 1983.

Two Super Bowls were among the many postseason games Hochuli worked. His athletic build and ability to concisely and efficiently explain on-field decisions make him most famous. In 2010, Hochuli broke the record for the NFL’s longest-serving official. In March 2018, he declared his retirement. His son Shawn Hochuli was elevated to referee the following year after serving as a back judge in the NFL and an Arena Football League.

Shawn’s father is regarded as one of the greatest referees in NFL history, and in keeping with the adage “Like Father, Like Son,” he is trying to emulate his success by imitating his father. He has a total of five siblings. His brothers, Daniel and Peter, work as town lawyers and judges in Juvenile Court, respectively, while his other brother, Scott Hochuli, manages a construction company.

Shawn Hochuli, a referee, has a net worth of around $3 million in 2022. He has a handsome salary at an NFL officiating job. 

He is a talented personality who has experience working in multiple fields, including in NFL. Most of his income is comprised of his salary as an NFL official, but he also works as a financial advisor for a corporate firm named IWM partners. At Pitzer College, Hochuli participated in the football team. He joined the league during the 2014 NFL season. He served as a side judge for the 2014 NFL season. He has also been a referee for arenafootball2, the Arena Football League, and the Pac-12 Conference, among other sporting events.

He presided over ArenaBowl XXIV between the Jacksonville Sharks and Arizona Rattlers on August 13, 2011. He also served as the game’s lead official throughout the 2017 preseason. Following the retirement of longtime referee Ed Hochuli and another official, Jeff Triplette, he was promoted from back judge to referee for the 2018 NFL season.

Shawn played collegiate football for Pitzer College and is now an official following in his father’s footsteps. He worked his first NFL season as a side judge in 2014, as well as Arena Football League and arenafootball2 games.

He officiated the ArenaBowl XXIV between the Jacksonville Sharks and Arizona Rattlers on August 13, 2011, the day after his father officiated a preseason match between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Shawn grew up with five more siblings in Phoenix metropolitan area, where his parents, Ed and Cathy, still reside. Hochuli family has established their family name as a brand with a notable presence in multiple sectors and is recognized as a famous family in society.

His brother, Scott, owns Hochuli Design & Remodeling Team, situated at a Phoenix-area business. Scott and his wife, Lorrie Hochuli, operate the business, focusing on home design and building. The Hochuli family has been residing in Arizona for quite a while now. They have placed themself into vital positions and are essential members of the state’s law and order department.

For that reason, one of his brothers, Peter Hochuli, is a judge in the Pima County Juvenile Court in Tucson, Arizona. While his other brother, Daniel Hochuli, is the town attorney for Sahuarita, Arizona.
