Manmohan Singh Family Details Revealed

Singh was born into a Khatri Sikh household on September 26, 1932, in Gah, Punjab, British India, to Gurmukh Singh and Amrit Kaur.

Since his mother died while he was a child, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, with whom he was close.

After India’s partition, his family relocated to Amritsar, India, where he enrolled at Hindu College, Amritsar.

He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Panjab University in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, in 1952 and 1954, respectively, while regularly ranking first throughout his academic career.
