Yet again, another case of gun violence turmoils the citizen of the United States as an 18-year-old woman was cold shot in a gas station in Oak Park, Illinois.

Jailyn Logan Bledsoe, a River Forest High School graduate, from Oak Park, was shot in the head and was pronounced dead on July 23, 2022.

Oak Park, a community in Cook County, Illinois is the 29th-most populous municipality where the recent shooting has made the situation worrisome.

In the early morning hours of Chicago, Oak Park, an 18-year-old teen was fatally shot during a robbery at a petrol station of that place. Jailyn Logan Bledsoe had recently graduated from OPRF (Oak Park River Forest) High School.

According to local witnesses, two guys approached the woman, shot her from behind, and then seized some items from her. The robbers then sped away in a wrecked blue Chrysler sedan. This is therefore thought to be a case of carjacking and robbery.

Up until now, the name and details of Jailyn’s parents have not been revealed on the Internet. The people all over the Internet are extending their anger towards the crime and condolence towards the Jailyn who lost her life at such a young age.

The unfortunate incident that occurred around 2 am in the morning at a gas station on 100 Chicago Avenue is another added case of weak gun law in the United States.

On Wednesday evening, the locals witnessed the gunshots at the petrol station located in the suburb of Oak Park and later police responded to the reports.

One of the murderers/robbers drew a revolver and shot her dead, robbed her belongings, and then flew in her car. Jailyn was declared dead at a local hospital and her murder was confirmed after identifying her body from a forensic medical test taken in Cook County. 

A task team has been assigned to look into big crimes in the Western Suburbs of Illinois. Likewise, police are carrying out their investigation with the help of CCTV cameras.

As of now, no one is being held in custody and the Oak Park Police has requested to submit any information found regarding this incident.
