Vancouver Canucks Kevin Bieksa Wife Katie Bieksa To Release Second Book Cedar

Katie Bieksa, the wife of Kevin Bieksa, is an author and by Kevin’s admission, the smartest member of the family. The leading lady of Kevin Bieksa grew up in Ontario, Canada, and is a graduate of Brock University.

Katie earned her degree in English Literature and Women’s Studies and has put those degrees to great use as the winner of the Canada Book Club Awards and has been besotted with several compliments by veteran writers.

The famous NHL couple dated for a long time before tying the knot in 2006. An ardent supporter of her husband, Katie could be seen cheering for her husband now and then in the stadiums.

And when not busy writing award-winning books, Katie can be seen taking trips to various exotic locations with her family of four. In 2017, when Katie published her first novel, Newport Jane, Kevin showed his full support to his wife.

The Canucks player posted a photo of himself reading the novel in one hand while on a paddleboard. He said, “I felt super proud when the book arrived at our place. Seeing her name on it, was a great moment.”

Kevin and Katie have always been supportive of each other’s careers. The former NHL recognized this fact in an interview and said that his wife had to put her career on the back burner, but was always there for her husband. 

The couple has experienced parenthood twice during their 16 years of marriage and is parents to a son, and a daughter, who like their father, are huge supporters of their mother’s career.

Katie Bieksa’s second book, Cedar, is ready to hit the shelf on Friday, November 4. Katie has described the book as a psychological domestic thriller but also a love story.

Bieksa’s first book Newport Jane which was published in 2017, received rave reviews and was a huge success critically as well as commercially. Newport Jane was a semi-autobiographical account influenced by her experiences moving from Canada to Orange County.

The book received a 4.6 rating on Goodreads.com at the time of its release and elicited comments, like, “Katie Bieksa is a ‘can’t put it down kind of writer. Her first book is masterful, full of intriguing characters, a sizzling plot, and honest insights into the nature of love and relationships. The perfect summer beach read.”

Mark Winston was full of praise for the woman who had started writing as a hobby when her husband was playing hockey and her children at school.

For the grand launch of her book, Katie announced on October 6 that she was partnering with The Cross to host an early access book signing. 

Kevin Bieksa has two kids- Cole Bieksa and Reese Bieksa. The hockey player shares the two kids with his wife, Katie Bieksa, who constantly gives updates about her happy family through her social media handle.

1. Cole Bieksa 

Cole Bieksa, age 15, was born on October 24, 2007. Cole is the first child of Kevin and Katie. Cole recently joined Fairmont School-San Juan Capistrano for his high school.

The 15-year-old has decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and is a hockey player for his high school team, Fairmont Hockey. Cole has an Instagram handle with the username @colebieksa, but it appears to be private.

Cole appears to be close to his father, Kevin Bieksa, with the father-son duo taking long drives without informing Katie about it. And along with being the apple of the eye of his parents, Cole is also a doting big brother to his younger sister, Reese.

2. Reese Bieksa

Reese Bieksa, age 13, is a carbon copy of her mother, Katie. Born on October 7, 2009, Reese has already become a social media sensation.

A teen influencer and California Lifestyle blogger, as she calls herself on Instagram, Reese is followed by 2.1 k people. 

The account is managed by her mother and Reese can be seen posting several photos as well as dance videos. The mother-daughter duo has frequently collaborated on their Instagram account whether it is promoting brands or doing dance challenges.

Kevin Bieksa comes from a family of hockey lovers. Born to parents Angela Lombardo and Al Bieksa in 1981, Kevin has two brothers and two stepsisters.

Al Bieksa, the father of Kevin Bieksa, is the President of the United Steelworkers International Union. And it was his father, Al, who gave the hockey player the idea to sign a one-day contract with Canucks to cap off his retirement.

In 2010, Kevin’s father and brother Brian almost met with a horrific motor vehicle accident but walked off unhurt. Kevin has an older brother Marty who remains away from the public limelight but was previously interviewed by NHL.

Marty complained that he doesn’t get to use his younger brother often and most of their memories are during the summers. Kevin also revealed the fact that the brothers are big wrestling fans and would watch Royal Rumble together.

The former Anaheim Ducks player is a doting father of two and is married to his wife, Katie Bieksa, since 2006. And Bieksa family might be getting another hockey player soon as Kevin’s son Cole has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.
