The athlete made his debut as a fighter on the 14th of December 2013 with a victory against Nate Hoffman, and he has a record of eight wins and one loss on his Tapopogy profile.

Likewise, Nunes has an upcoming bout with Dylan Potter at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC, New York, United States, on the 5th of August 2022. Dylan has fought 15 bouts and won 10 of them while losing five.

Nunes is 33 years old, born in 198, a city in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, in Itú, and the fighter makes a toast to celebrate his birthday on the 21st of December every year.

His interest in martial arts started at 10 when the athlete got introduced to capoeira, the Brazilian art of kicking, so he practiced for two years until his interest shifted to jiu-jitsu and UFC.

Watching his friend's depiction of jiu-jitsu and his younger brother's practice, he joined the BJJ class of Mr. Takeyoshi and abandoned capoeira when he was 12. 

However, Marcelo's parents couldn't afford his tuition, so Takeyoshi taught him for free and provided him emotional support; he also trained under Robert Drysdale and represented Brasa Academy. 

Later in 2007, Robert settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, while he trained in his hometown. But he left everything behind to reunite with his coach in America in 2010, where he received his black belt.

The 33 years old is happily married to his gorgeous wife Cam Gu; the pair walked down the aisle and committed to spending together forever in 2009.

The athlete and his better half have been together for 12 years; furthermore, they celebrate their wedding anniversary every year on the 9th of November.

Likewise, Marcelo and Cam have gotten blessed with two kids; they welcomed their first child, a baby girl Niyah, in the same year they tied the knot; Niyah turned 13 on the 13th of May 2022.

Later, Nunes's significant other gave life to an adorable baby boy named Kayden. Although the age of little Nunes is unknown, he marks his birthday annually on the 29th of March under the astrological sign Aries.

The athlete does wrestling and Thai boxing, apart from being a mixed martial artist and a jiu-jitsu advocate, and has set a professional MMA record of 8-win and one loss; likewise, he had the MT record of 7-0 as per BJJ Heroes.

Moreover, he has won many fights, with the most remarkable ones including the 1st Place IBJJF Masters World Championship, Pan Championship, American Nationals, and 2nd Place IBJJF Masters World Championship.
