Pardeep Brar, an associate at Bennett Jones and one of the victims of the EFS Nightclub Shooting in Toronto, has died in hospital due to a gunshot wound.

One of the two victims who were shot in a King Street nightclub over the weekend has passed away, according to Toronto police. Just after 3:30 a.m. on July 17, gunfire could be heard inside the EFS Social Club at 647 King Street West, close to Bathurst Street.

Officers entered the building and discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. Following that, a woman, 24, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while a 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police announced Monday night that the male victim had passed away from his wounds in the hospital. He was recognized by the police as Pardeep Brar, 26, of Brampton. The wounded woman has now received treatment and has been released.

On Sunday, July 11, at 3:33 a.m., two people were shot at the EFS Social Club, including 26-year-old Pardeep Brar of Brampton. Officers from the 14 Division were performing crowd control around the King St.-Bathurst St. area when they heard gunshots.

He was discovered inside the EFS nightclub without any signs of life, and cops began doing CPR on him before paramedics arrived. He was taken urgently to the hospital and later passed away.

Pardeep is Toronto’s 39th homicide of the year. Only a few hours before the tragic nightclub shooting, a man was shot and killed outside Scotiabank Arena.
