The Rugby (NRL) legend Paul Green, 49, died suddenly in Brisbane, leaving the rugby league community in anguish.

According to multiple news reports, the former professional rugby league footballer and NRL coach died in his garage on Thursday, August 11, 2022. “We have lost a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful brother and son,” Green’s family released a statement after his passing.

When people learn that Paul Green’s family only yesterday had a tremendous celebration for his son’s birthday and is now grieving his passing, they will be even more horrified and heartbroken.

The Australian Rugby player had two children, a boy, and a daughter, from her marriage with Amanda Green. He valued family time and favored spending it with his kids.

The blissful couple was gifted with their first child, a sweet daughter named Emerson Green, in 2009, and four years later, in 2013, they welcomed their second child, baby boy Jed Green. 

Her daughter, Emerson, is a well-known dancer who has captured the hearts of countless Australians and people worldwide. Both his children are currently studying in elementary school.

The demise of Paul has caused the family much pain and suffering. One day after his son’s ninth birthday, he was located dead in his garage, and now his distraught family is speaking out in the wake of the passing of the adored NRL player.

The family asked for privacy and some lone-time without any media interference, as they did not get enough time to process Green’s death. This afternoon, a group of relatives and friends, including former Broncos hero Andrew Gee, arrived at the family home to pay their respects.

Similarly, tributes and condolences have flooded his social media and her family’s too, as all of his friends. Followers and well-wishers worldwide are paying homage to the legend of the game.

Did Paul Green Commit Suicide? Cause of His Death

His Wikipedia page recently got updated, which added his death. It says Green passed away on August 11, out of the blue, in his home in Brisbane. Then it also says, “His death was ruled as a suicide…” 

Likewise, many other media are making their headlines with his death news and the word “Suicide” on their news titles.

However, the family had not come out yet with the cause of death. But as per initial inspection, it seems like Green committed suicide. Dailymail reported the reason for his demise would be determined by a post-mortem.

Paul Green Was Lying Unconscious In The Garage

The 49-year-old Paul Green, a coach who won championships, passed away suddenly, and the rugby league community grieves.

Shortly after ten o’clock on Thursday morning, he was found unconscious in his garage. His family’s home in Wynnum, east of Brisbane, was visited by Queensland Police. Shortly after reaching the scene, paramedics declared Green dead, a police spokeswoman said.

Green recently visited Sydney for the Cronulla ex-players reunion; he played 95 matches for that team before switching to the Cowboys in the north.

After the losses of Australian cricket luminaries Rod Marsh, Shane Warne, and Andrew Symonds this year, a close friend of Green’s, the demise of the Sharks and Cowboys champion is yet another tragedy to the Australian sports community.
