Dr. Ishari K Ganesh has served as a chairperson and Chancellor of Vels University in Chennai, India. In 1992, he established the Vael’s Educational Trust in memory of his late father Isari Velan, a former Legislative Assembly member in the state government of M.G. Ramachandran.

Pushpa Ishari Velan, the mother of popular film producer and education baron Ishari Ganesh, left the world today on July 14, 2022. She was the wife of late veteran comedy actor Ishari Velan, who was a staunch supporter of late Tamil Nadu Cheif Minister MGR.
She died of natural cause at the age of 75 and it has been announced that Pushpa’s body will be removed from her Injambakkam residence at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 15th. According to the sources, she will be transported to the Vels University campus in Thazhamboom, where she will be laid to rest.

Ishari has stated in interviews that his mother Pushpa faced severe financial difficulties following his father’s death in the 1980s, but she raised him and his sisters with grace and discipline.
As aforementioned, Pushpa’s son, Dr. Ishari K Ganesh is the founder, chairman, and Chancellor of Vels University in Chennai, India. In 1992, he established the Vael’s Education Trust in memory of his late father Isari Velan, a former member of the Legislative Assembly in M.G Ramchandran’s state government.
Moreover, his late father was the president of the Pachaiyappa’s Trust board of directors (2011-2014) and had served as the secretary of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University’s consortium of colleges (2007-2009).

Following her death, several celebrities from the film industry and politicians from different parties have expressed their condolences to Ishari Ganesh via different means. Ganesh had shared the grief moment through his Instagram where he wrote “You gave me a life full of beautiful memories, your love will be my guide. Rest in peace, Amma.”
Having her husband, Dr. Ishari K Ganesh already passed away, Pushpa today has also joined him in heaven. Likewise, she left her son Ishari Ganesh, two daughter, and grandchildren.
Her daughter in the memory of her mother writes, “Her guidance, love and strong support have always been of so much value to me and to mold me the way I am today. I’m still having trouble accepting the fact that she is no longer alongside me.”
Her son, Ganesh is the founder and Chairman of Vels Film International, a Tamil film production company. Moreover, Ganesh is popular in the Kollywood industry and has appeared in five films as a supporting actor between 1992 and 2018, including S. Shankar’s 2.0 (2018).
