Where Is Carlos Ghosn Now?

Carlos Ghosn is reported to be in Lebanon. Ghosn, the former CEO of Nissan and Renault, lives as a runaway from the Japanese legal system.

In April 2022, Carlos Ghosn received a global arrest order from France. In detail, the international arrest order was issued as Carlos infamously skipped bail in Japan and fled to Lebanon in a box.

French prosecutors gave him an international arrest order as part of an investigation into alleged misappropriation of corporate assets and money laundering. According to the prosecution, the disgraced auto tycoon used millions of euros in Renault cash to buy a 120-foot boat and pay for personal expenses through an Omani auto distributor.

After receiving an arrest warrant, the fugitive former auto executive stated that he anticipates having a “fair trial” in France. Speaking to CNBC, Ghosn made a clear jab at Japan by saying he believed the French justice system would treat him fairly.

As of now, Ghosn continues to explain his side of the story while in exile in Lebanon. Moreover, he has penned several books- “Broken Alliances,” his latest.

The other read, “Boundless,” is also worth reading as it starts with his audacious escape, which involved packing Ghosn into a sizable box that was transported on a private plane and flown out of Japan.
