Kai Havertz And His Brother Jan Havertz Used To Use 29 When They Created Themselves On FIFA05

The German footballer Kai Havertz and his brother Jan Havertz grew up playing FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. They wore numbers 10 and 29, respectively.

The athlete went from playing football in a video game to making his professional debut for Bayer Leverkusen in 2016. Furthermore, he wore the same jersey number his brother wore while playing FIFA together.

The Havertzs comes from a family with an athletic background, as their grandfather was the chairman of the amateur club Alemannia Mariadorf. Thus, the Chelsea attacking midfielder received his first experience in football at Alemannia Mariadorf when he was four.

Likewise, they also have a sister named Lea Havertz, but the athlete’s siblings and family members have maintained a low profile from the public eye. Yet they occasionally appear on the soccer star’s social media.

Kai Havertz Has A Brother Named Jan Havertz

Kai Havertz grew up playing football with his brother Jan Havertz in a district of Alsdorf, Mariadorf, until their family moved to Aachen. They continued playing together until the soccer star made his professional debut.

It was their beloved grandfather Richard who introduced the brothers to the sport. Richard was a former footballer and a coach and passed down his love for the game to the young generation.

Likewise, their dad also played football at an amateur level, but the elder Havertz didn’t pursue it to a professional level like his son. Instead, he became a policeman to serve the people and ensure peace so that citizens could live comfortably.

Thus, Kai isn’t the only one from the family with a deep love for soccer; his siblings and parents also share the same fondness. Moreover. They are his biggest fan and always supports and encourage him to reach the top.

Kai Havertz Chose The Number 29 For His Brother

Kai didn’t choose his jersey number randomly; he chose the number 29 for his brother. He has a lovely story behind the number he wears while playing on the field.

The soccer player and his older brother played FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer while young, and Jan always put No 29 on his shirt, whereas he had number 10 and wore golden shoes. Later, when he turned professional, Bayer Leverkusen gave him some number he could pick from, and the moment the 23-year-old heard 29, he knew he wanted to have it.

Furthermore, the athlete went with the exact figure even after making his bold move to Chelsea. As he is an attacking midfielder, fans thought he might change his number to 7, 9, 10, or 11 as they are deemed more iconic numbers in football, but it wasn’t the case for Havertz.

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the most prominent players of all time, has used his number “9” to make a brand for himself in the shape of CR7. Likewise, the German footballer is also known for the two-digit number on his jersey.

Some athletes also switch their numbers depending on the luck it brings, and the former Danish footballer Niklas Bendtner is one of them. He wore number 26 before switching to 52, hoping to achieve success. However, Kai has always stuck to the same number since it holds special memories for him and his brother.

Kai Havertz Also Has An Older Sister

Havertz doesn’t only have a brother but also a sister. The soccer player was born the youngest child to his parents, and he has a beautiful older sister named Lea Havertz.

Lea made headlines when she dropped a transfer update about her brother on Instagram in 2020. While Kai was in the news for his possible signing with the Premier League club Chelsea, she confirmed that he was moving to London when someone asked if her brother was changing clubs.
