After a bizarre unscripted scene in which actor Will Smith struck comedian Chris Rock, the 2022 Oscars show went off the rails. The altercation appeared to the comedian’s remark about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, resembling “G.I. Jane.”
According to the LAPD, Chris Rock has not filed charges against Will Smith, following the achingly strange Oscars incident. The LAPD has since stated Variety on the event, indicating that Rock has not filed any charges. The statement added, “LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident involving two persons during the Academy Awards event.”
The LAPD will be available to finish an investigation report if the affected party requests one at a later time.
