Coco Gauff's Religion: Is She Christian?

Coco Gauff is the famous and youngest player in the WTA Top 100 ranking with a career-high ranking of no.12. She won her first career title at 15.

Besides her hard work and training, Coco is thankful to god for her success. Coco Gauff is very religious and prays before her every important match. She has been doing this since she was just eight years old.

Coco Gauff's religion is Christain. She reportedly attends the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Florida and sings in the Church's Choir group. Likewise, her parents are also Christians.

Apparently, even the church is very supportive of the Tennis prodigy. The church reportedly prayed for Guaff before her victory against Venus Williams at Wimbledon 2019.

One of the biggest gestures of her religion is when Coco knelt after her win against Williams. She prayed to god as she couldn't keep her emotion in the court.

Coco inherits most of her athletic genes from her parents. Her father used to be a college-level basketball player for Georgia State University. He later swapped his athletic career for the position of health care executive.

Likewise, Candi also played track and field games for Florida State University. Eventually, both Cory and Candi encouraged their daughter to play sports, including basketball and track. However, Coco chose Tennis instead.

She grew up watching powerful black women like Serena Williams dominate the game. And she decided to try the sport at just six years old.

Coco Gauff Action at Wimbledon 2022

Coco Gauff performed exceptionally at Wimbledon 2022, despite losing her third match.

In the WTA 1000 doubles match, Gauff paired with Jessica Peluga and entered the finale for the first time. However, they were defeated by Russian Veronika Kudermetova and Belgian Elise Mertens in the finale.

Nonetheless, this won her career-high ranking of no.10 in the doubles category. She has climbed to the no.5 position since then.

At Wimbledon, Gauff won her first round against Romanian Tennis player Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Similarly, she defeated Romanian Mihaela Buzărnescu in her second round.

However, the third round was not so fruitful. She lost the match against American Amanda Anisimova, kicking her out of the Wimbledon championships.
