Demond Ridder and his wife Claire Cornett welcomed their first baby in April 2021. Demond and Claire are high school sweethearts.
The Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Ridder, tied the knot with his longtime partner Claire earlier this year in July. The couple welcomed their daughter Leighton Elizabeth Ridder a year before their wedding ceremony.
In recent weeks, the news had emerged that the rookie Desmond Ridder had been preferred by the NFC South team over the veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota, leading him to leave the team temporarily.
Desmond made his first start against New Orleans Saints on Sunday but fell short as Taysom Hill led the Saints to a 21-18 victory. Ridder will hope to get his first victory as a starting quarterback for the Falcons against Baltimore Ravens and Gus Edwards on December 24.

The 23-year-old NFL player with his longtime partner Claire Ridder became parents to the beautiful sweet girl before their marriage. The pair tied the knot in Atlanta, Georgia, almost a year after their daughter’s birth.
On November 3, 2020, Ridder took to his Instagram handle to announce the news that he was going to be a dad. At the time, only 21, Desmond looked more than excited about starting a family with his partner, Clarie.
He shared the photo of him giving a sweet peck to his partner on her head as she held the sonogram pictures. The couple had a football-themed “gender reveal” ceremony at the University of Cincinnati’s stadium, where the quarterback punted the ball up in the air for it to reveal the pink smoke.
Before the birth of their daughter, Claire had a baby shower ceremony on March 13, 2021. And on April 19, 2021, the couple revealed that the most awaited person in their lives had finally arrived.
Leighton has already traveled to various states with her parents, with her trip outside of her birthplace, Ohio, being to Louisville, Kentucky. There she enjoyed a short trip with her mother as they soon returned to Ohio to watch Ridder take on the field.
For her newborn’s first Christmas, Claire decked her up in a cute Christmas romper. For her first birthday earlier this year, the young parents posted sweet messages on their respective Instagram handles.
Desmond shared a short compilation video for his daughter, with Tim McGraw’s song, My Little Girl playing in the background. On August 12, she attended the wedding ceremony of her mom and dad as she looked precious in a “white dress”.
On December 5, Leighton with her mother attended the match between the Falcons and Steelers at the Mercedes-Benz stadium. The Ridder family shifted to Arizona after the Falcons signed Desmond in the third round of the NFL draft.

Demond Ridder wife Claire Ridder is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
Claire recently celebrated turning 24 years old on December 15. She is a year older than Desmond, and the two graduated from the same university. She previously attended Assumption High School in her hometown Kentucky.
Claire and Desmond are high school sweethearts, with Claire even attending his graduation ceremony from St Xavier High School in 2017. In 2019, the couple attended the three-day Forecastle Music Festival, which happens every year in Louisville.
She attended the Birmingham Bowl in 2020, where her husband was crowned the MVP of the game. During the quarantine of 2020, the couple announced that they would soon be a family of three as Claire shared the sonogram pictures on her Instagram handle.
The couple welcomed their first child together in April 2021, their beautiful bundle of joy Leighton Elizabeth Ridder. The supportive partner of the quarterback was there with Demond as he was drafted into NFL by the Atlanta Falcons.
Earlier this year, on July 15, 2022, the couple tied the knot in a low-key wedding ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia. Claire looked stunning as she wore a wedding dress with a bow design at the back paired with a short veil and the quarterback kept it casual with a blue suit.
Before saying goodbye to Kentucky, the couple attended the Kentucky Derby revealing their passion for horse riding. On December 4, the NFL featured the Ridder family on their Twitter account as Leighton and Claire were in attendance to cheer for Desmond.
