In addition, Kyrie Irving is fasting in observance of Ramadan. “And so it begins,” Irving remarked in a tweet as a hint of him starting Ramadan.
He’d already suggested fasting throughout Ramadan. He is now vocal about his faith. In March 2021, he tweeted about Allah, the Arabic term for God.
On April 12, 2021, reports began to circulate that Irving had recently converted to Islam and was fasting during Ramadan.
Images of Irving bowing before tipoff, as is customary in Islamic prayer, began to circulate on Twitter, Instagram, and elsewhere. In previous weeks, Irving had issued tweets thanking Allah for personal and political victories.
